In an era of increasing misinformation and political pressure to roll back the long-standing rights of businesses and investors to consider all material financial risks, academics play a key role in providing critical research, analysis, and thought leadership to inform policy and public opinion.

Join Tensie Whelan, Director, NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business; Witold Henisz, Vice Dean and Faculty Director, The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania; and Ceres policy experts, Andrew Collier and Mel Mackin for an in-depth analysis of current trends, potential legislative actions, and deep dive into ways to support investors and businesses in protecting their long-standing rights to invest and operate responsibly.

In this session, participants will:

– Examine emerging state and federal level legislative trends and proposed 2025 federal actions that could impact higher education endowments, pension funds, agriculture, and other institutional investors

– Analyze the legislative advocacy plans of opponents and their potential effects on institutional investment strategies

– Discover strategic messaging recommendations based new polling for engaging with policymakers and other stakeholders

– Review detailed insights into the current status of the Freedom to Invest campaign
